Without Glastonbury, summer in the UK doesn’t feel quite right. It doesn’t matter whether you manage to camp at the fabled festival every year or just catch up on TV, June is made for watching music legends play to huge, mud-soaked crowds.

Obviously, the pandemic put a stop to the most joyous weekend in the UK’s music calendar. But in 2022, Glastonbury is back and looks as big and splashy as in any normal year. As ever, there’s an impressive line-up of big headliners, buzzy newcomers and stuff for your dad, too. Here’s everything you need to know.

When is Glastonbury 2022?

Glastonbury 2022 starts on Wednesday June 22 and runs until Sunday June 26. Most of the music will be on June 24, 25 and 26, so if you’re not lucky enough to be heading to Worthy Farm IRL and you’re watching on the TV instead, those are the dates to pencil in your calendar.

Who are the Glastonbury 2022 headliners?

Billie Eilish was the first headliner announced for the hallowed Pyramid Stage – at 19, she’ll be the youngest solo artist to achieve that feat. She’s joined by Paul McCartney, who will be the oldest-ever headliner when he tops the bill on the Saturday night one week after his 80th birthday. Kendrick Lamar, fresh from the Super Bowl halftime performance, will close the festival on Sunday night.

Who else is on the Glastonbury 2022 lineup?

Basically everyone, duh. This is motherfriggin’ Glastonbury, after all. This year, in keeping with the festival’s gender parity commitment, some 47 of the 89 acts are female artists, which is pretty cool. They include Lorde, Arlo Parks, Beabadoobee, Haim, Mitski, Megan Thee Stallion, Caroline Polachek, Cate Le Bon and Diana Ross (in the Sunday afternoon ‘legends’ slot’)

Foals, Fontaines DC, Herbie Hancock, Kacey Musgraves, Jessie Ware, Khruangbin, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Bonobo and Caribou will also play. Here’s the official poster, with all the acts announced so far:

Can I still get Glastonbury 2022 tickets?

Maybe. The majority of tickets have rolled over from the 2020 festival, meaning people who booked pre-pandemic haven’t lost out. Which is fair enough, but we’re still really jealous. So, is there any other way to get tickets? Well, the festival is still running a ticket resale later this month (although we’ve no doubt you’ll have a lot of competition).

When is the Glastonbury 2022 ticket resale?

The Glastonbury ticket resale takes place on March 24 and March 27, so you can still have a stab at bagging a spot. Make sure to have the webpage open well in advance, your card details to hand and – ideally – an incredibly serene mindset.
